In a change to the previously advertised programme, Wilmslow Historical Society are pleased to welcome Ian Doughty, Chair of Congleton Museum who will speak about the large hoard of silver coins found in four pottery vessels on the outskirts of Congleton.
They reveal much historical information about the possible owner back in the seventeenth century. The meeting will as usual be in the Large Hall at the United Reformed Church, Chapel Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 1PR.
Visitors are welcome £5, students are admitted free. Tea/coffee and biscuitsare served at 7.30 and the lecture will begin at 8.00pm.
