The festivities will begin at 11am when there will be a market on South Street car park until 5pm offering a selection of Christmas gifts, street food, a fully licensed bar and live music to get you all in the Christmas spirit. Alternative parking will be made available.
Additionally there will be craft areas for mini market visitors, a fairground ride for small children and maybe even a visit from Father Christmas. You can also pop down and create your very own lantern on the market which you will be able to use for the parade in the evening.
At 5pm people will congregate outside and parade with handmade lanterns along London Road towards Waitrosewhere there will be a brass band and choir, along with festive nibbles and drinks.
The Christmas Lights will then be switched on at 6pm by a celebrity.
