AESG brings festive cheer to Handforth Dean

On Wednesday Christmas shoppers at Handforth Dean were entertained by pupils from Alderley Edge School for Girls. AESG’s musical talent was showcased with performances by pupils from the Junior and Senior schools.

Girls from the Junior School sang a medley of traditional Christmas carols which delighted the passers by and the Senior School Showband raised the rooftops with their dynamic and vibrant Big Band sound.

Neil Shaw-Hulme, the Showband leader, continued an AESG tradition by composing a special musical arrangement – a blend of Christmas carols which this year is in the style of Earth, Wind and Fire.

It was a truly wonderful experience and we were thrilled to receive so many compliments on the professionalism and outstanding musical ability of our girls from everyone who stopped to listen.

We know how excellent the music that our school produces is but it is always such a pleasure to hear this reinforced by people who are not linked to the school.

We were also delighted to raise money for the Francis House Children’s Hospice through donations given during the performances.
