Picture the scene.... a wedding day... in the middle of winter.... in teepees....
A year previous, Emma and Lee Mason – owners of the Bubble Room in Alderley Edge, after a Christmas engagement decided they didn't want a traditional wedding in a hotel so they decided to enlist the help of local wedding and events planner Harriet from Cheshire Cat Events.
After an initial meeting to brainstorm ideas, a cosy tepee in the garden with roaring fire pits to warm the cockles on a cold winter's day was born!
Teaming up with Sue Le Bonne, prestige caterer from Mobberley, a rustic menu was created as Sue advised on a succulent hog roast with a luxurious informal banquet to accompany, including cheeses chosen from local delicatessen Grantham's.
As local traders themselves, Emma and Lee were aware of the vast selection of high quality wedding suppliers operating within the village and so chose to utilise as many local businesses as possible! They managed to source Emma's dress, shoes, the suits, rings, flowers, cake and favours, hair and beauty, photographer, videographer, pop up bar, band and as mentioned their catering and wedding co-ordinator.... all locally!!
Harriet and Sue both felt on the day that this was such an admirable way to plan the day and not only had Emma and Lee both found it easy to work with local people with regards to meetings etc in the lead up to the big day, all the suppliers that all already knew each other pulled together to ensure it was a wonderful day for the new bride and groom! It was undeniably a great atmosphere and team behind the scenes on the day! "Not only from a personal point of view but for the gain of the whole bustling village that Alderley Edge is, I would urge more people to consider supporting the village before looking further afield for all their wedding and private party plans!" says Harriet.
Emma and Lee were delighted with their special day from beginning to end "From the first meeting with Harriet, we could tell she was going to be such a great help for our special day. It was such a relief knowing that we could have the wedding at home – without having to put added pressure on our parents on the day. Sue le Bonne was the obvious choice for our caterer – being such a high quality and established company locally, we knew that our big day was in safe hands. The guests are still complimenting the food now even months after the event! We can't thank Harriet and Sue enough for everything they did to make our day perfect!" says Emma.
