Botanist's alfresco plans approved

Plans for a new dining area on the pavement outside the front of The Botanist have been approved.

Small raised decked areas will be created on either side of the doorway with bi-folding doors installed on one side and sliding sash windows on the other.

The decking will be placed on the pavement area and be constructed in reclaimed timber, to pick up on the internal theme of the bar. It will be enclosed by decorative railings and each area of decking will accommodate two tables, providing 18 covers in total.

Chris Hill, Managing Director of The New World Trading Company, said "The new decked section in front of the Botanist will enable our guests to enjoy the long sunny Alderley days in a comfortable seated area. Full food and drink service will be available throughout the day to create a relaxed and fun environment.

"We know how much our guests have enjoyed our garden at the rear of the Botanist so it was a natural step to make use of the front where the sun sets longer and later!"

They hope to have the works completed in the middle of April.

The planning application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for reference 13/4982M.

As well as enjoying the sunny Alderley Edge days they can also enjoy the fumes from the standing traffic and the number 82 bus. ;) Enjoy.

With this being a dining area it will obviously be non smoking. Lets hope CEC monitors and implements the necessary fines.
After all, it's governments and councils that make up this nonsense .They will be reminded if they don't .

So to walk past on a Friday or Saturday night we will now have to walk down the main road! What with the over spill on the footpath which will now be pushed out even more and then the illegally parked taxis!!

How much (in cm) of the pavement will be left to pedestrians?
