Alderley History Group has organised an evening of short talks about the history and ecology of the Edge.

The evening meeting on Tuesday, 18th March, will be introduced and chaired by Dr Simon Caporn from Manchester Metropolitan University.

The talks will cover 'Early days at Alderley Edge - Mesolithic times to the Romans' by Peter Caporn and 'Surface soil metal contamination at Windmill Wood, Alderley Edge' by Adam Dzimidowicz.

Both Peter and Adam are final year undergraduates at university and have studied Alderley Edge for their dissertation.

Peter is a student of Archaelogy at York University whilst Adam is an Environmental Scientist scholar at Manchester Metropolitan University and both have new and interesting results to reveal.

All proceeds from the evening will go towards the St Philip & St James Spire Appeal.

Refreshments will also be served and there will be a music interlude with folktales from Stephen Mills of Derbyshire Caving Club.

The short talks will take place at St Philip & St James Church Parish Rooms from 7.30pm to 9pm.
