Air ambulance charity takes off

The North West Air Ambulance Charity has expanded its retail base with a new store opening in Alderley Edge.

Located at 55 London Road, the new store opened its doors on Saturday, 22nd February, joining the charity's seven other retail hubs. The new store will offer a range of good quality second-hand clothing and bric-a-brac to raise vital funds for the life-saving service.

The North West Air Ambulance Charity's helicopters fly 365 days a year, with the doctors and paramedics on board providing rapid treatment, hospital transfers, and ultimately, giving the gift of time to patients across the entire North West region each year.

The charity's retail arm has been extremely successful in generating income to help keep the region's air ambulances flying and the charity is now looking for generous locals to donate their time or second-hand goods to help the store get off to a flying start.

Jackie Northover, head of retail at the North West Air Ambulance Charity, said: "We have been really looking forward to opening our second Cheshire store in Alderley Edge after the success of the Hale opening back in October last year. Our helicopters flew over 1,700 life-saving missions last year, with almost a quarter of these were in Cheshire alone, so the new store will be another great place for the Cheshire community to come together and support a local, and extremely worthwhile cause.

"As we're coming up to the spring clean season, it's the perfect time to get organised and donate your unwanted clothes and bric-a-brac to help us get off to a great start. Alongside these vital donations for the store, we would love local people to also donate their time to help run the hub and help mirror the success of the recent Hale opening."

Forget being the champagne capital, A.E is soon going to become the charity shop capital of the country!

Better than seeing empty shops though!
