A bridal boutique, which was established in Alderley edge in 1994, closed its doors on Tuesday, 28th January.
The Wedding Shop was run by Maggie Chadwick and her daughter Lucy Ball who moved into their bigger and brighter shop in March 2011.
They posted the following message on their website announcing that the business had gone into liquidation.
"It is with great sorrow and our deepest regret that we have to announce the closure of The Wedding Shop.
"As a very small family company we have had to make this devastating decision due to some unexpected personal difficulties, alongside 18 months of very turbulent trading conditions.
"Please be assured that we have spoken with all of our designers and they are working with us to ensure that all orders that have been placed with us will be delivered as promised, although directly from the designer or from another of their stockists.
"We would like to thank everyone who has supported us during the last twenty years and we hope you understand how difficult this decision has been for us."
Newly wed Emma Mason, manager of The Bubble Room, said "I was devastated to hear about the shop closing when I got back from my honeymoon. Lucy and all the staff made the run up to my wedding so exciting and special. They made sure my veil, dress and accessories were prefect for my special day.
"I will miss looking at the dresses as I go past everyday - I've been doing it since I was about 7! Best of luck to Lucy and her family with whatever the future holds."
