Revised plans have been submitted to Cheshire East Council for demolishing the former nun's home and replacing it with four houses.

This application follows the withdrawal of the original planning application (reference 13/4068M) for the site which is situated on Ryleys Lane, between London Road and Redesmere Drive.

The council requested that the original scheme, for two detached houses with basements and two semi-detached units, was revised and reduced in size by one quarter - by maybe losing one unit.

As a result of feedback from the local authority amendments have been made. The new proposed scheme is still for four units but these are now all semi-detached with the overall internal area of the properties reduced by approximately a third.

Other changes include reducing the ridge height by 1 metre and reducing the eaves height to the boundary with No.1 Redesmere Drive from 8.7 and 7.8 metres to 5.6 metres. The revised scheme has also been moved a further 2.5metres away from the side boundary and it has been altered so only the access off Ryleys Lane is used - leaving the northern access for the tennis courts behind - due to concerns raised by the Council on the previous application.

The recent planning application can be viewed on Cheshire East Council's website by searching for planning reference 13/4993M.

The last date for submitting comments is 2nd January 2014 and a decision is expected by 21st January.

The site has also had an application for hoarding (reference 13/4077M) granted for reasons of site security and health and safety of the general public.
