The Alderley Edge branch of the Royal British Legion is delighted to announce that this year's collection raised a total of £7475, as a result of a fantastic effort from everyone concerned.

Speaking on behalf of the branch, Mary Maczkowiack said "We would like to thank all volunteers especially the street collectors who raised £1,298.30 over a cold and miserable weekend.

"This years total was boosted by the kind donation from Chess of £460.52 and also the Tea Dance held on the 3rd November at the Festival Hall which raised £547.87! A big thank you to Ashley and staff, Diane Bullock and committee and everyone involved, especially Weinholts who donated dozens of delicious savouries.

"A huge thank you to cake makers and for all the raffle prizes kindly donated. This event as always could not happen without the union clubs involvement in providing a central HQ in the village."
