Alderley Girls took part in a fundraising initiative to raise money towards the repair a village landmark.

The whole school joined in a non-uniform day on Friday, 27th September, when they wore something white to be like 'the saints in heaven' and raise money for the Spire Appeal at St Philip and St James.

Headmistress Mrs Susan Goff presented Revd Jane Parry with a cheque for £881.85 towards the Appeal.

Headmistress Sue Goff said "We were delighted to support our local church as it plays such an important part in our school life for both Juniors and Seniors.  Our girls regularly attend Eucharist there and it also is a lovely venue for our services at the end of each term as well as our Christmas and Easter music concerts.

"We were very keen to support the appeal and the girls (and the staff) enjoyed focusing on being saintly for the day, dressed in white!  Rev Jane came in to both the Junior and the Senior School to give an assembly about the spire and its history so the girls were fully aware what they were supporting and why.  We hope that the spire appeal reaches its target very soon and are proud that we were able to play our part in this."

Revd Jane Parry commented "It was great fun and we are very grateful to Alderley Edge School for Girls for their fantastic support."
