Plans for food and vintage fair to return

A new food, craft and vintage fair held in the village at the weekend could become a regular feature.

Aldeli hosted the family event on Sunday, 8th September, which they estimated attracted over 500 visitors.

Rain held off until near the end of the fair which was attended by over 30 stalls including a wine importer and local producers of cheese, pies, cakes and bread - along with three vintage stalls.

The face painting and free donkey rides proved very popular with the children, in return for which donations were given to Francis House Children's Hospice.

Stephen Higham commented "We hope to run the event every 2nd Sunday of month.

"It seemed to go well, especially the animal section and most stall holders were interested in returning next month."

Stephen added "Aldeli was really busy especially with icecream/yoghurt sales and we put on a special of 'pulled chicken cooked in Guiness' which sold out in 2 hours."

It was a great day and everyone I spoke to enjoyed it and look forward to it continuing. It was lovely to see the stalls busy.
