Work to improve well used footpath

Work has been carried out to improve the state of the footpath from Davey Lane to the car park at the station this week.

This path is used regularly be many local residents as a short cut, however there are frequently issues with dog mess, overgrown plantation and litter.

Festival Hall Manager Ashley Comiskey-Dawson and Nigel Thompson, the village lengthsman, cut back the overgrowth and cleaned the footpath on Monday, 12th August. They also trimmed the hedge on Heyes Lane, by the allotments, and the cut through to Devonshire Drive.

Cllr Melanie Connor said "Now we've got to work to keep the path clean and keep the dog mess away - not an easy job as a small number of people still don't clear up after their dogs!

"We will continue to work with Cheshire East Council and the village lengsthman to keep the path clear, keep the light working and keeping it as pleasant footpath."

The Parish Council did this work to make life easier for those who want to get into the village, from the north side without having to criss-cross London Rd.
Neither the Parish Council nor Cheshire East own the path, so we hope you don't mind us spending a wee bit of your money in this way; for the general good.
