More work scheduled for Chorley Hall Lane

DSC_4707

Cheshire East Council has confirmed that they have not finished all the resurfacing work at Chorley Hall Lane.

The road was closed for several days last month for Cheshire East Highways to carry out works, which left many residents and parish councillors wondering whether they were coming back to fill in the gaps.

The Council is planning to carry out surface dressing on Chorley Hall Lane towards the end of August.

The road surface will be sprayed with bitumen, then new stone chippings will be pressed into the tar to create a waterproof membrane.

The lines should then be repainted on the road shortly after.

We will confirm the dates for the work as soon as we receive confirmation.

Completion of this job is obviously not a high priority fro CEC.

I guess the windscreen replacement companies will have to wait a little longer before local business pick ups. Ah well ! better late than never.

I'm hoping Macclesfield Road will be next on the CEC "patch-up" list, large areas of its surface are an absolute disgrace.

People are currently parking at Chorley Hall Lane all day making the road even tighter. Not safe at all.

I sent a letter from the PC asking a member of Highways to walk CH Lane with me so we could look at the work carried out - the good, the bad and the rest!
Monday, I contacted them re the yellow lines and the fact that it was more dangerous than when the parking was on Congleton Road, and on the fact that part of CH lane/Windermere Drive had started to sink slightly!
They assured the PC that the lines would be painted back in the next few days and they would investigate other issues - ie not finished yet!!! We wait

The completion of C H Lane has been on going for over 6 weeks, The contractors left site on June 25th . Many residents have been pressurising CE by logging complaints over the last month. Both Lisa & Bev Chapman have correctly established that the Schedule to be undertaken by the Outsourced contractors will involve : Dressing/ Bitumen followed by Gritting and completed by Lining .
The delay by CE, in Scheduling the completion not only wastes good weather conditions, but
has created opportunistic and dangerous parking on CH Lane . This has been highlighted to
CE and Police. Why has this work been commissioned if there is no Cohesive Plan to start &
complete ,as was achieved on Chapel Lane ? We should continue to log and complain until the work has been completed, and the Road handed back fully lined and able to be properly
policed. Any further plans to inspect the Work can be arranged after completion.
