Ryleys' boy to star in Channel 5 documentary

Oliver Rushton

A budding young actor will play the role of Keith Bennett in Channel 5's drama documentary - Myra Hindley: The Untold Story – airing on July 17th.

Oliver Rushton (10) from Prestbury has been busy filming with the lead actors around Manchester and will appear in the second episode of the series.

Produced by Manchester's Nine Lives Media, the series is based on Hindley's unpublished autobiography.

Oliver Rushton attends The Ryleys School and is due to start at The King's School in September. His performances received several awards in the Alderley Edge Music, Speech and Drama Festival in 2012 and 2013. He's also a keen Cornet player and in June took part in a masterclass with the Hallé Orchestra.

Peter Rushton, Oliver's father, said, "Oliver is really keen on the arts and wants to pursue an acting career. The subject of the TV documentary is obviously extremely sad and serious but this gives him a chance to show a different side to his abilities."
