John Mills, the chairman of the organising committee said "It has always been our intention to provide an evening of music for everyone – for people from 6 to 86 years old and we believe we now have a line up where something should appeal to everyone."

The final list of 21 acts appearing are: Alderley & Wilmslow Musical Theatre Company, Alessia Doyle, Banned from The Room, Barnby Choir, Catherine Taylor-Dawson, Cheshire A Cappella, Chordiale, Clare Howell, Ewan Sim, Ian Tatlock, Kray Brothers, Lacey Green Primary Academy Senior Steel Band, Liam McClair, Lindow Singers, Sadie Pickering, Sotto Voce, Styal Brass, TEMPO (formerly known as SCAMPS), Wilmslow Community Choir, Wilmslow High School Concert Orchestra and Wilmslow High School Choir.

Then on Sunday, 14th July, the WIlmslow show is back, following last year's cancellation due to dreadful weather.

Amongst the highlights this year will be the final of the Rotary scarecrow competition and a flying display which will be performed over the grounds by the RAF. The ever popular fun dog show will be taking place again and there will be entertainment in the arena throughout the afternoon, including a falconry display and the much loved dog and duck.

This year there will also be displays from the Flaherty Cowboys, Jemma Leopold with a dressage display and a wild animal centre. The Bourbon Street Jazz Band, Hazel Grove Brass Band, Pantonic Steel Band and Rode Hall Brass Band will all be performing, so there will be lots of music for everyone.

The classic car show will feature over 300 cars and the horticultural marquee will be packed with entries to all the competitions. Last but not least the food and craft marquee will be filled with some really unusual and award winning artisan producers.

Chairman Frank McCarthy said "The organising committee has been able to hold the ticket prices at £5 for adults, £2.50 concessions and £12 family ticket for the seventh year running due to the increased attendance and the very valuable sponsorship of events.

"From toddlers to grandma, there is fun for the whole family, and this year sees many new attractions ranging from the Jemma Leopold horse dressage show to a 1970's BBC TV outside broadcast 'Scanner."

The show will be held on Sunday 14th July on the sports field at Wilmslow High School from 11am until 5pm. In order to speed up the entrance to the field, there will be an increased number of pay booths and for the disabled there will be a dedicated entrance and car park. A shuttle bus will also be running from Broadway Meadow to the show on the day and there is free parking on Broadway Meadow.

More details including those of all the competitions you can enter can be found at the Wilmslow Show website.

Whilst some seating will be provided, festival goers are welcome to bring their own collapsible garden chairs or rugs to sit on to enjoy the evening. If arriving by car, the car parking available for the event will either be in the school (only accessible from the A34 bypass) or in town centre car parks with pedestrian access via the Holly Road entrance.

Tickets, priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions are available via the www.wilmslowmusicfestival.com or from one of the performers listed.
