Demolition of Trafford Road garage complete

The car servicing centre and neighbouring showroom on Trafford Road have now gone, marking the end of an era as a garage has operated from the Trafford Road site for over 40 years.

Alderley Motor Company and the JN Bauer car showroom both closed in April to enable the owner Russell Homes to replace them with family houses.

Demolition of the buildings has taken place over recent weeks and today the site is being cleared of rubble to make way for a new housing development.

Russell Homes has been granted planning permission, reference 12/3015M, to build four semi-detached town houses on the site which had been home to Alderley Edge Motor Co for approximately forty years and JM Bauer and D Bauer for the past ten years.

What a shame another old Cheshire property and landmark lost forever,
never mind soon it will be like Milton Keynes.
It will of course not upset the younger ones among you,as they never knew Alderley as it was.

Mr Roberts, what a sweeping statement. What age do you class as the "younger ones" and how do you remember Alderley Edge?

I am sure many of the "younger ones" will welcome the new family homes! We are lucky in alderley in having another excellent garage called Highams!
