Plans to rebuild demolished Panacea

A planning application has been submitted to Cheshire East Council to partially rebuild the fire-damaged Panacea Restaurant and Bar.

The plans are to reinstate the demolished section of the building, which was extensively damaged by fire on Tuesday 12th March, to its original appearance.

Structural surveys of the building, which is currently cordoned off, have been carried out and resulted in the central section being condemned. The supporting walls were left unstable as a result of the roof and first floor structures collapsing.

No alterations are proposed to the exterior of the building and the materials used will match the remaining structure.

Demolition work is currently in progress. We understand from people working on the site that the front section of the building is structurally sound, but, as you can see from the photos above, the rest of the building has been destroyed.

The first phase of the works is scheduled to be completed towards the end of this year, and Panacea hopes to be back up and running during the early part of 2014.
