Recycling collection update

Cheshire East Council staff are working to clear the backlog of collections caused by the severe winter weather.

If residents' waste was not collected on Friday, due to the bad weather, people were advised to put bins back out this morning (Monday).

Crews will do their best to catch up with the backlog today – but this may not be possible and some collections may fall into Tuesday. If your bin has not been collected by Monday evening leave it out for collection on Tuesday. However, this will be dependent on weather conditions over the next few days.

As weather conditions in the north were less severe than in the south on Friday, fewer roads were missed. Those omitted included 25 roads in the Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Bollington areas.

One additional vehicle has been sent to the Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Bollington area to collect recycling today.

A spokesperson from Cheshire East said "We anticipate continued difficulty in accessing some of these areas as poor weather conditions persist, especially in the Congleton area. We cannot guarantee that all bins missed on Friday will be collected today."
