Children at Alderley Edge Community Primary School have raised nearly £700 for a children's charity which provides care for children and young adults with life threatening conditions in the Northwest.

The school raises money for Francis House Children's Hospice every year from public events and services.

Last year they raised £670 from their bucket collections at choir, orchestra and Christmas performances.

Kate Puc, from Francis House Children's Hospice, attended an assembly at the school this week to speak about the work of Francis House and accept the donation.

Headteacher Mr Perry said "Kate's visit really helped the children understand that all their efforts before Christmas will make a difference to others."

Well done to the pupils and staff at the school. £670 is a large sum for them to raise for such a good cause.
