The orchestra and choir from Alderley Edge Primary School performed for shoppers at Handforth Dean this week.

The children sang and played in the entrance area at M&S and Tesco to raise money for Francis House Children's Hospice.

The school raises money for this important children's charity each year from public events and services, last year they raised just over £700 for Francis House.

Head teacher Mr Perry said "The children were a real credit to themselves, their families and to the school. I was proud to see the children using their time to give something back to the community in this way at a time when the focus is often on what they will receive. The children really showed what the true meaning of Christmas is."
