A section of London Road will be closed from 4pm today to enable the Alderley Edge Christmas Lights switch on event to take place in the centre of the village.
The main road will be shut from its junction with Chapel Road and Macclesfield Road to the entrance to The Parade car park, which will remain open.
The alternative route during the closure will be via; Chorley Hall Lane, Ryleys Lane, Wilmslow Road and vice versa.
The stage will be located at the junction of West Street and London Road but the road will only be closed to the entrance to the underground resident's parking.
It is anticipated that the roads will reopen at 10pm on Thursday, 22nd November.
Access for pedestrian, emergency vehicles and residents will will be maintained at all times.
