Hundreds of local residents and business people gathered at the former Number 15 Wine Bar last week to celebrate the official launch of a new village pub.
The Botanist was absolutely heaving on Thursday, 4th September, with hundreds of guests enjoying complimentary drinks and canapés, whilst being entertained with live music.
Following the huge success of the Oast House in Manchester's Spinningfields, this is the second pub for Knutsford-based Living Ventures - who have given this traditional looking, largely reclaimed building their new take on old.
Whilst Alderley Edge has witnessed many changes over the years and already has an abundance of bars and restaurants, Living Ventures felt a 'proper village pub' would fill a gap in the market and they hope it will become as much of an institution as its illustrious predecessor, which closed in March 2009 after 35 years.
Tim Bacon, Managing Director of Living Ventures said "The Oast House in Manchester has established a very strong following in a short space of time so I'm confident we will achieve the same with The Botanist and bring No 15 back to life."
In addition to a well stocked cellar of cask-conditioned ales, they offer around 50 bottled beers and ciders from around the world as well as a selection of the finest champagnes, wines and spirits.
The Botanist also offers a deli-style smokehouse menu with a rotisserie, external barbecue and ample room for al-fresco dining in the unique No 15 walled garden, whatever the weather!
The Botanist is open from midday until midnight Monday to Wednesday and on Sundays, until 1am on Thursdays and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
