Local charities and organisations could be missing out on a cash boost as an Alderley Edge supermarket says it is struggling to find local causes to support with its charitable giving scheme.
Each month Little Waitrose selects three local charities, groups or organisations to receive a share of £500, but very few are coming forward to be part of the scheme.
Green tokens are available which customers can place into the three labelled boxes at the store exit, where they can read about and vote for the cause they elect to support.
At the end of the month, each cause is given a share of the £500 donation - proportional to the number of green tokens they receive.
Clare Johnson, champion for Community Matters at the Alderley Edge store, said "Every month I really struggle as we just do not seem to get any nominations.
"We are looking to help local groups and charities so if they would like to participate they can come into the store and complete a nomination form.
"All nominations are important to us, whether it be a school, playgroup, mums and toddlers group, theatre or music group."
If you represent a local charity, group or organisation then you can contact Clare Johnson on 01625 590742 or pop into the store to fill in a nomination form.

I'm certain there are other local sporting groups and organisations that could use some of the £500 a month on offer. I can certainly think of some new projects that Clare and the Waitrose team may feel are worthy of future support for our Club.
