Date set for Botanist opening

Living Ventures have confirmed that work is progressing well at No. 15 London Road where they plan to open a 'proper village pub'.

The Botanist will open on October 1st, on the site of the former Number 15 Wine Bar, which closed in March 2009.

The business will be part of the The New World Pub Company, a division of Living Ventures, who run The Oast House in Spinneyfields Manchester.

Jeremy Roberts told alderleyedge.com "It will be a similar offering with an enhanced restaurant menu and a few more bespoke cocktails, but the local real ales and the almanac of bottled beers, featuring more than 40 types, plus key menu items such as the infamous hanging kebabs will all be there."

The Knutsford-based operator behind Gusto and Grill on the Edge hope it will become as much of an institution as its illustrious predecessor.

I remember washing the pots at No. 15 - what a job!
I also remember the bank of microwaves where all the food was "cooked". but still, the perk was to eat the food at the end of my shift. :-)

First visit to the Botanist! Interesting place but cocktails were disappointing, short measures too. Great to have a new venue in the village though.
