Alderley Edge Parish Council held their quarterly meeting of the Finance Committee on Monday 16th April.
Attached is a copy of the minutes from the meeting where a number of local issues were discussed.
Cllr Melanie Connor gave a breakdown of the expenditure for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the village. The budget of £5000 was overspent by £1315 which the parish councillors approved retrospectively and agreed was entirely justified with the event being a great success.
The main costs were table and chair hire, entertainment, toilets and the specially engraved jubilee coins which were presented to all schoolchildren who live and go to school in Alderley Edge.
The committee also agreed to purchase a non-endorsable speed gun at a cost of approximately £250.
The Alderley Edge Parish Council meet once a month, with the exception of August, and the Finance Committee meet on a quarterly basis. All meetings are open to the public and held in the Council Chamber at the Festival Hall.
