The New York style deli on Wilmslow Road has been granted a license to sell alcohol and permission to extend their opening hours.

Aldeli at Highams Garage, which was officially opened by George Osborne in October, can now open from 8am until 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 10pm on Sunday or public holidays.

Their hours of operation have been extended from 8.30am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays or public holidays.

Use of the outdoor seating area is limited to 8am to 10pm on Monday to Saturday and 9am to 10pm on Sundays or public holidays and they are forbidden from having any external music or speakers.

Stephen Higham told alderleyedge.com "Quite a few of our customers have requested an alcoholic drink to be served with their meal over the last few months especially when the weather has been fair. Plus commented that they would enjoy an early evening meal especially if they have been working late and cannot be bothered to cook.

"With immediate effect we are selling alcoholic drinks and in September opening later in the evening. We are well aware that a lot of our customers are accompanied by their children. Care will be taken to supervise the sale of alcohol on the premises.

"We look forward to seeing customers old and new in the evening whether it is for a quick beer and sandwich on the way home or for an after dinner treat of Ice cream sundae or cheese cake."
