On Monday 11th June I attended the Alderley Edge Parish Council's monthly meeting.

Issues discussed included the condition of the cemetery and War Memorial, refurbishment of the Festival Hall and the closure of the A34 bypass to enable National Grid to carry out works to the electricity pylons and lines.

The minutes of this month's Parish Council meetings are now available, click here to read about all the local issues covered.

The Alderley Edge Parish Council meet once a month, with the exception of August. All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Council Chamber at the Festival Hall. Dates and further details for the forthcoming meetings can be found in our events section.

Did you know that you can apply to the war memorials trust for a grant to restore memorials? I am a life long member of this society and can pass on information.

Thank you, Lisa, for attending the Parish Council meetings, keeping the residents of Alderley Edge informed about the business carried out there and providing access to the minutes.
Cllr Keegan has made a number of statements recently about the Parish Council's plans for the allotments in Alderley Edge, in particular plans for the Heyes Lane site. Yet there is no mention in the minutes of the Council's June meeting of a) the report prepared by Cheshire East with its recommendation for the transfer of the Alderley Edge allotments or b) of the CEC Cabinet Members meeting on 18 June when the decision was to be made. Cllr Keegan attended the meeting on 18 June giving an outline of what he said were the Parish Council's plans.
However, the Parish Council has not had a discussion in any Council meeting or taken a vote on the future of the allotments since it decided in October 2011 to accept a transfer of responsibility for the allotments from Cheshire East. One can only wonder what else is happening that is not reflected in the minutes.
