A Sixth form pupil at Alderley Edge School for Girls is celebrating this week having been awarded a place at the prestigious International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP).

Rhiannon Lunney will attend the two week course at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Ontario, Canada, this summer.

The ISSYP is an exciting and challenging course open to International students who have a keen interest in theoretical physics and intend to continue studying Physics at university level.

Mrs Susan Goff, Headmistress at the school commented, "We are delighted that Rhiannon has been awarded a place on the course, competition for a place is extremely high and with only 38 places awarded internationally this year, she has done incredibly well. We look forward to hearing more about her fortnight in Canada when she returns in July."
