Alderley Edge School for Girls hosted a surprise farewell concert for Mr Neil Shaw-Hulme, a long standing and valued member of the music department.

The concert was to say thank you and good luck to Neil as he plans to devote more time to his professional music career.

Neil has been involved with school since the start and prior to that, taught at Mount Carmel School. He inspired, motivated and taught many generations of girls to play music, and the school is very grateful to him for everything that he has done over the years.

The concert included performances from the school's Concert Band, Sax Band and Show Band, and many members of staff, pupils and friends from past and present, joined in with the celebrations.

Mrs Susan Goff, Headmistress at the school commented, "We would like to wish Neil every success and look forward to hearing all about his new projects. The concert was our way of saying a huge thank you to him for all that he has done and we know that staff and pupils alike will miss him dearly".
