There were lots of guns and loud bangs at The Edge this weekend as the National Trust played hosted to a film crew and cast.
The filming was to produce a trailer for 'Charlie' - a coming of age feature film written and directed by Mike Ogden and produced by Paul Forrest.
Set in Italy during 1943, Charlie, an Allied prisoner of war who is on the run, encounters Marco the young brother of an executed partisan leader, who is out for revenge.
Charlie wants nothing to do with Marco, or his friends who soon join them at an abandoned partisan hideout. As the Germans ruthlessly sweep the valley searching for him, Charlie finds he has to rely on the help of the children to survive until Marco discovers Charlie's secret, one that could tear their friendship apart.
The trailer filmed in Alderley Edge and Salford is to show to potential investors.
Director Mike Ogden explained "We aim to film the feature in Europe later this year with the co production partners we already have in Luxembourg and Italy. We used local actors to stand in and German re enactors from the 39/45 Society and North West re-enactors."
The film is being completed at Nvizible and Tate Post in London who have worked on many international features such as Black Hawk Down, Harry Potter, Hugo and recently John Carter.
Mike added "We chose to film in Alderley Edge as I am based in Manchester and know the area. The Edge has a lot of different looks to offer within a short walk which we needed, plus the National Trust were very helpful as was the tea room, which my crew can attest to!
"We'd like to thank the local people for putting up with our bangs and mini invasion over the weekend."
