Local school children donned their running shoes on Friday to complete the Sport Relief mile in the glorious sunshine.
Pupils at Alderley Edge Community Primary School had a non-uniform day and raised over £200 for the charity, with some of the older children completing as much as 3 miles.
They also participated in running the mile at Alderley Edge School for Girls with each girl donating £1 and completing the run in their pyjamas and nightdresses. Fortified by the usual Friday fish and chip lunch all girls made a tremendous effort to complete the mile with some girls even doing it three legged.
