PCSO Jim Newns and Alison Gabbott, Police Crime Prevention Advisor for the area, had the opportunity to share crime prevention advice with local residents when they took to the street on Saturday morning.

Jim said "The event was a great success with many local people taking time to stop and chat about community and home safety issues.

"We gave away many UV marker pens for property marking and small bell devices that can be attached to peoples purses which alert them if the purse moves."

Jim's next surgery will take place on Saturday 21st April, between 10am and noon when he will be foot patrolling on London Road from Costa Coffee to NatWest.

Jim can be contacted on 07948522130, leave a message if he is unable to respond to your call, and dial 101 to report non emergency crimes.

i have a lot of time for jim but it seems to me that most crimes in the area which have affected me have been perpatrated by organisations that are above the law.
