On Monday 9th January, I attended the Alderley Edge Parish Council's monthly meeting.

Since then I have reported on some of the issues raised at the meeting, including the councillors concerns about the future provision of town centre management services, plans to repair the memorial bench to Nurse Maud Hatton, and the Parish Council's request that Cheshire East Council make a number of improvements to Alderley Edge Park.

I also reported on the Parish Council's decision to increase the precept for the next financial year by 33% from £90,000 to £120,000.

Other issues discussed include neighbourhood watch schemes, banners being placed on the railings, the problem of dog fouling in the village and the lighting which Cheshire Peaks and Plains have placed at Wood Gardens, which a resident has complained about.

The minutes of this month's Parish Council meeting are now available, click here to read about all the local issues covered.

The Alderley Edge Parish Council meet once a month, with the exception of August. All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Council Chamber at the Festival Hall. Dates and further details for the forthcoming meetings can be found in our events section.
