Six Alderley Edge Scouts have received their top honour from the District Commissioner – in unusual circumstances.
Emiley Greenwood, Joe Trueman, Rob Hall, Steve Fox, Greg Roberts and Lydia Roberts were presented with the Chief Scout's Gold Award by DC Stephen Buckley after a night hike on the Edge.
The six scouts are all members of the Alderley Edge troop and will be moving on to their local Explorer Unit in January. They have also been invited to the county CSA Gold presentation event to be held in Warrington when all recipients from the last 12 months are honoured.
"It was a great setting for the presentation as we had a fantastic night-time view of the lights of Manchester as a backdrop," said Stephen.
Alderley Edge Scout Group is celebrating their centenary this year.
