Alderley Edge Parish Council will be holding their monthly meeting on Monday 3rd October which, as with all meetings, is open to the public and press.

The Parish Council meeting will be followed by a General Purposes Committee, a Plans Committee meeting, during which recent planning applications will be considered, and the quarterly meeting of the Finance Committee.

Attached is a copy of the meeting agenda showing the issues to be discussed, which include the allotments, the War Memorial, Alderley Edge Park and the bowling green.

Alderley Edge Parish Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber, upstairs in the Festival Hall, and start at 7.30pm.

The agenda is a bit vague on allotments and war memorial. I guess I'll have to go and find out what they are going to talk about. Anyone else ?

Councillor Keagan told a meeting last week that he wanted to build a huge car park on the allotments and a new medical on the front of the Assembly Rooms. I do not know what to believe. Maybe a Traveller site is the real objective.
I cannot attend the meeting but would really appreciate talking to any that do. My email is

Mr Saunderson is being emotive in linking traveller sites to the debate on the future of the Heyes Lane allotments. The first thing the Parish Council will do is vote to take the allotments back from Cheshire East, whose Cabinet voted on 5 September to return them to the Parish before March 2012.

The Medical Centre is being developed on the front of the Festival Hall site, and will have its own parking on that site.

However, the Parish Council debate will be about the future parking provision in the village, and the focus will be about maintaining the economic viability of the village.

Very late comment on this, but that picture above of nice tidy allotments is most definitely not the Heyes Lane allotments which are scruffy and unkempt. If only they looked like this I might feel like defending them and I am afraid we desperatley do need a new medical cente.

Some of the allotment holders come from other areas so they don't really give a damn about Alderley, they would rather sit in their "mangers" barking their heads off instead.
