Derbyshire Caving Club are offering a special opportunity to visit one of Alderley Edge's copper mines which was worked on from the Bronze Age to the 20th Century.
This weekend guided underground tours of Wood Mine will be conducted at timed intervals throughout the day. Members of the club will also be demonstrating modern rope access methods in the mine and there will be displays about the mine history and archaeology.
No special equipment is required as lights and helmets will be provided but you should wear reasonable footwear and old clothes.
Timed tickets are available for booking online before the Open Weekend but you can also get your ticket at any time on the day, giving you an opportunity to take a walk before you visit the mine.
The Open Weekend at Alderley Edge mines will be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th from 10am until 4pm.
