Further works on Alderley Road

road-closed-300

The resurfacing works carried out recently on Alderley Road in Wilmslow could not be completed as planned, so further work is required this week which will result in the closure of the road for one day.

The road will only be closed for traffic travelling in a northerly direction on Friday 2nd September. The following week further repairs are planned under traffic control.

Alderley Road will be closed to through traffic travelling into Wilmslow from a point 70 metres south of the junction with Donkey Lane to the junction with the B5086 Fulshaw Cross roundabout, to enable the carriageway to be resurfaced on behalf of Cheshire East Council.

Traffic heading south from Fulshaw Cross Roundabout will be able to travel along Alderley Road to the A34 at Harden Park Roundabout as normal during these restrictions.

The alternative route for traffic travelling in a northerly direction from Harden Park Roundabout (A34) to the B5086 Fulshaw Cross roundabout will be via the Handforth By Pass (A34), Mill Street, Manchester Road and Alderley Road.

For further Information on the works please contact Graham O'Connell Cheshire East Council on 0300 123 5020.
