Prestigious French choir to perform with The Ryleys

The Ryleys School Choir are to be joined by an acclaimed French choir for a series of performances this week.

The Ryleys Choir went over to France last year where they were guests of the Conservatoire de Tour and performed at several concerts in the region. The French choir from the prestigious Conservatoire of Tours are now coming over to Alderley Edge on a return visit.

They will be performing with The Ryleys School Choir and the children are all staying with hosts from the school, providing a great opportunity for the children to improve on their language skills.

The Choirs will be performing at Chatworth House, St Ann Church in Manchester, Alliance Francaise in Manchester, the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and at a special Lunchtime Concert 'Entente Cordiale' on Wednesday, July 6th, at Alderley Edge Methodist Church.

The Ryleys School Choir has had enormous success in the Alderley Edge Music festival, winning the top prizes during the last four years. It is regularly invited to perform at charity concerts and has a well-deserved international reputation.

The Conservatoire du Tours Junior Choir has sung in various classical and children's operas. The programmes tackle all repertoires: religious music with organ and strings, Mozart's 'Requiem', Béla Bartok, musicals, traditional songs and canons.

Proceeds from the Lunchtime Concert will go to Francis House Hospice and the Church Spire Fund.

Tickets are £3.50, light lunches will be served from 12 and the concert will commence at 1pm.

Tickets are available by emailing The Ryleys or calling the school on 01625 583241. Alternatively they can be purchased byfrom by emailing the church office or calling them on 01625 586713.
