The first of the two new pieces of play equipment has now been installed in Alderley Edge Park.

The Bird's Nest, which is aimed at children up to the age of 12, arrived on Wednesday, May 19th, and the Spire Net is expected to be with us shortly.

Duncan Herald, the lead councillor for parks and open spaces in the village, has been working on improvements to the park for some time and this week it has been given a clean up ready for the Alderley Edge May Fair which will be held in the park on Saturday, May 21st.

He told me "The edge strips to the paths, that were damaged by the heavy machinery that laid the land drains under the footy area, have been replaced by new ones.

"The unsightly pile of old tarmac has been removed and the grass has been mown to within an inch of its life ready for Saturday's event in the park... the Parish Council have ordered the weather gods to produce only sunshine on Saturday; the force is with us?"
