The Oxfam bookshop celebrated their opening today, Saturday May 7th, with live music and a visit from George Osborne.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer called by with his son and daughter to chat with staff and purchase a selection of children's books.

Customers were entertained with live music from trio Cookin with G.A.S., made up of Joe Silmon-Monerri, Dave Kissack and Oxfam volunteer Paul Dewey.

Manager Katie Robb told me "We've had a really good response from the local community, we've had lots of people volunteer and the feedback has been brilliant."

The new shop stocks a wide range of second hand books and music - all of which have been donated to Oxfam.
