The final of the Miss Manchester 2011 competition, in aid of the Five Stars Appeal, will take place at Panacea on Thursday 9th June.
It is set to be a glamorous event with Peter Dickson, the X Factor's famous voiceover man, playing host for the evening and conducting the auction to help raise funds for the chosen charity.
Forty girls, selected from the hundreds of online applications, will be judged over three rounds by a panel of ten judges including ex Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke.
The winner of Miss Manchester 2011 will automatically gain entry to the Miss England final and become an Ambassador for the Five Stars Appeal, alongside Corrie's favourite Craig Gazey (Graeme Proctor), Terry Christian, Britain's Got Talent boy band Re Connected and Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic. The Five Stars Appeal Childrens Charity has been raising funds for children with life threatening illnesses for over 30 years. They recently raised funds to buy a new MRI scanner for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital under the name of the Five Stars Scanner Appeal.
The team began a new fundraising campaign in 2011 and one of the beneficiaries will be six year old Madison Allan whose friends and family are trying to raise £250,000 to get life saving treatment in Germany, after all attempts to save her in the UK have failed.
Guests are urged to book their tickets early as numbers are limited and they are already selling fast. Ticket prices are £75 (including dinner and after party), £35 (bar tickets and after party) and £25 (after party only).
