Alderley girls celebrate Royal Wedding

Junior School pupils at Alderley Edge School for Girls participated in several activities in the lead up to the Royal Wedding this week.

Girls worked together to produce different items, which included designing a wedding dress, bridal shoes and head pieces and a three-tiered wedding cake. In addition they created a crowd and balcony scene.

Girls in Class 1B produced commemorative china plates, and made personalised bunting in preparation for several afternoon tea parties, including the Reception classes who invited parents along to join in the celebrations.

Mr Lawrence Groves, Headmaster of the Junior School at Alderley Edge School for Girls commented, "The Royal Wedding is a momentous occasion in British History and it lends itself nicely to a wide variety of fun yet educational activities within the classroom – whether it be lessons in Art and Design, Drama, Food Technology, Geography or History, they all relate to the day and the girls thoroughly enjoyed all the activities on offer".
