Hare Hill Garden is looking for volunteers

Hare Hill Garden in early summer

Hare Hill Garden at Over Alderley are looking for volunteers to help out with the forthcoming season as they prepare to welcome thousands of visitors over the coming months.

Emma Hill, the new Head Gardener at Hare Hill, comes from Dunham Massey and worked on Dunham's very successful Winter Garden.

She said "We've got great plans for the garden. We aim to improve accessibility, increase plant interest through summer and autumn in the woodland garden - which already has fine collections of rhododendrons and hollies - and then develop the walled garden into a cutting garden for cut flowers which we will sell."

The National Trust are in great need of garden stewards and practical volunteers to help with garden tasks and they are also looking for volunteers at the sixteenth century Little Moreton Hall near Congleton.

A Volunteer Open Day is being held at Little Moreton Hall tomorrow, Tuesday 5th April from 1pm until 3pm. Alternatively if you are interested in getting involved please email Steve Netherwood or call him on 07775 410602.
