The 27th ASICS Wilmslow Half Marathon took place this morning, Sunday 27th March, with ideal conditions for the 4800 runners.

His team mate from Birchfield Harriers, Zak Kihara was second to complete the course in a time of 65 minutes and 36 seconds, closely followed in third place by Nick Swinburn from Morpeth Harriers in 65 minutes and 45 seconds.
The women's race was won by Julie Briscoe from Wakefield Harriers recording a fantastic time of 73 minutes 29 seconds which secured her a place in the England squad.
In second place was Olivia Walwyn from Altrincham District AC in a time of 76 minutes and 30 seconds and Jo Buckley, from Bingley Harriers, was the third women to complete the 13.1 mile course in 79 minutes 49 seconds.
For the 3rd consecutive year the 2011 Wilmslow Half Marathon incorporated the England Half Marathon Championships. The added endorsement to this popular and prestigious race guaranteed that the cream of England's elite distance runners raced along the leafy lanes of Wilmslow and Mobberley.
In addition to the elite runners, thousands of runners pounded the streets for their own chosen charity. Each year the Wilmslow High Marathon raises tens of thousands of pounds for charity and this year the chosen lead charity for the race was Macmillan Cancer support.
