Takao Ito, a Year 6 pupil at The Ryleys School, has beaten off fierce competition to gain a silver medal in the Primary Maths Challenge.
The nationwide competition receives over 300,000 initial entries, of which only 1,000 make it through to the finals. Being awarded a silver medal puts Takao in the top 200, which is a fantastic achievement.
Headmaster Pat Barrett said "Takao is a very intelligent boy whose achievement in the Primary Maths Challenge only highlights what a bright future he has ahead of him. We wish him every success when he joins The Manchester Grammar School in September."
