Interestingly around two years ago, while in the Co-op (Somerfield then) store in Alderley, I noticed a guy shoplifting. Being a good citizen, I found the store manager and identified the thief, while in the store. Bizarrely, the manager took the contraband from the thief and proceeded to escort him from the store, at the same exact time I left with my shopping (no police phone call, or police report, or even police escorting the culprit away). This led to the thief and his two accomplices venting their anger on me as I tried to walk home with my (fully paid for shopping).

So finally shoplifting in the Co-op in Alderley has reached a level where they can actually be bothered to report it!
