Police helicopter searches for suspicious males

The Cheshire Police helicopter was hovering over Alderley Edge last night in search of three men in balaclavas.

Officers and the helicopter attended following a report of three suspicious males near to Chorley Hall Lane at 10.26pm. The allotments and playing field off Chorley Hall Lane were lit up whilst a helicopter search was carried out, but the males were not traced and the area was confirmed clear.

Inspector Matthew Welsted, from Wilmslow Neighbourhood Police Unit, said "There does not appear to have been any crimes committed, however we are very keen to hear from anyone who may be able to provide any information about these males.

"I would like to stress that if you see anything suspicious, no matter how small, please don't hesitate to call us."

Three hours after this search for suspicious males a burglery occurred on Brook Lane.

In the early hours of Monday, 31st January, a car was stolen from outside the property after the offender broke in and stole the keys.

The offender smashed a window at the rear door to gain entry and also stole a wallet. The incident occurred at 1.25am.
