In November I wrote about Sophie Beever, a young entrepreneur from Alderley Edge who was planning to spend the festive season selling Christmas trees at Horseshoe Farm.

The 19 year old student, who takes every opportunity to put her business studies in to practice, bought 120 Christmas trees which she spent every day selling, from December 4th to 21st, along with wreaths, log tree stands and vegetable boxes.

We purchased our tree from Sophie and were absolutely delighted with it so this week I caught up with her to see how business had gone and whether she'd be back selling Christmas trees next year.

Sophie said "I decided to start selling Christmas trees this year at Horseshoe Farm as the unit where Christmas trees are usually sold is no longer vacant and I thought there is a large potential market.

"It went really well and consequently I had to place two more orders, meaning I sold just under 150 trees in total. I loved every second of it!

"It was always cold, I just had to buy a few extra pairs of gloves, but the trees looked really pretty covered in snow. The free delivery service in the SK9 area was well utilised and very beneficial to my customers as I tried to deliver the trees on the day that they were purchased.

"I hope I will be able to do it again next year. I would order more trees as everything sold really well and I was very happy with how everything ran."

Sophie has lived in Alderley Edge for most of her life, she is currently studying Business Management with Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University and was Deputy Head Girl at Alderley Edge School for Girls until she left in 2009.
