Cheshire East Council has announced that Councillor Frank Keegan was referred to the Standards Committee on November 17th 2010.
A spokesperson from Cheshire East said "This issue is not related to his removal from Cabinet. Cllr Keegan was removed from Cabinet as a result of his conduct and behaviour when relating to Senior Officers and Council members when discussing issues relating to the day-to-day operation of this Council.
"It is not appropriate to make any further comment at this stage."
The Standards Committee investigates allegations that Councillors have not behaved in an appropriate way and is responsible for promoting high ethical standards. Last week's Standards Committee meeting, scheduled for November 22nd, was cancelled and according to the Cheshire East website they are due to meet again on January 24th.
